About Me: Frail? No Way. My Fight Against Sarcopenia and Old Age

Older man carrying resistance bands overlooks mountains, symbolising Matthew Baker’s fight against sarcopenia and frailty.
My goal is not merely to live longer, but to remain strong enough for the adventures ahead.

My fight against sarcopenia and old age.

Hi, I’m Matthew Baker.
A year ago, at 62 years old, I stepped away from my landscape gardening business to full-time care for my 93-year-old mum.
Even while working a physically demanding job outdoors, I had started to notice my flexibility slipping. I took up yoga, which helped immensely. But it wasn't until I began caring for my mum that the true reality of aging hit me. Seeing her muscle wastage and general frailty was a massive wake-up call.
Right then, I made a vow: I would do everything in my power to help her, and I would do everything to prevent myself from becoming frail in my later years.
Frail? Me? No way.
I have big plans for my retirement. I am learning to sail so I can be out on the water for years to come. I intend to cross the Brooks Range in Alaska—even if I’m in my 70s or 80s when I do it. Adventure, the great outdoors, and the wild places of this planet are my lifelong passions. For decades, the everyday grind of regular survival kept those dreams on the back burner. I am not about to let muscle loss steal them away from me now that I finally have the time.
Turning Back the Clock
Determined to fight back, I dove headfirst into the science of human longevity. I began reading everything I could find on building strength, halting muscle wastage, and maintaining lifelong fitness.
Along the way, I ran into plenty of hurdles, made mistakes, and learned from them. By combining cutting-edge AI research with hard-won, real-world experience, I sifted through the noise to find the absolute best, science-backed protocols on nutrition and resistance training.
The results speak for themselves. In far less than a year, I have proven that it is entirely possible to halt sarcopenia in its tracks. By combining the right cellular nutrition with progressive resistance training, I am actively turning back the clock—building solid muscle and reclaiming true skeletal strength.
This is a Lifestyle, Not a Quick Fix
For me, this is a lifelong commitment. Maintaining this strength is exactly what it will take to stay robust, capable, and adventurous into my 70s, 80s, and 90s.
If I can do this, I am absolutely certain you can too.
